Short answer: thinner, water-based serums go on before richer ones, vitamin C is a morning-only step applied first on dry skin, and hyaluronic acid needs damp skin to work with. Beyond that, every LAVOÙE formula is designed to sit comfortably alongside the others — there's no strict hierarchy to memorise, just a few rules that stop you wasting product or working against yourself.

The three rules that matter

  • Thin to thick. Water-based serums absorb before richer, oil-based or occlusive formulas. Apply light textures first so they aren't blocked by something heavier already sitting on the skin.
  • Vitamin C goes first, on dry skin, mornings only. It's applied before anything else in the morning — including other serums — and works alongside SPF, not instead of it.
  • Hyaluronic acid needs water to hold onto. Apply it to clean, damp skin — never fully dry — or it can pull moisture from deeper skin layers instead of the air, which works against the point of using it.

Morning routine

  1. Cleanse. A gentle, water-based cleanser.
  2. Vitamin C, if you're using it. Deep Vita C Capsule Serum goes on first, on clean, fully dry skin — this is the one step in the whole routine that specifically wants dry, not damp, skin.
  3. Hydrate on damp skin. If you didn't use vitamin C, or once it's absorbed, apply Ultra Light PDRN Peptide Serum, Niacinamide Barrier Drops, or Hyaluronic Multi Peptide Serum to skin that's still slightly damp from cleansing.
  4. Moisturise. Seal everything in.
  5. SPF. Every morning, regardless of which serum you used.

Evening routine

  1. Cleanse. Double cleanse (oil cleanser first) only if you wore sunscreen or makeup during the day.
  2. Treat, based on how your skin feels. Niacinamide Barrier Drops is designed to layer under, or stand in for, your usual serum on days skin feels reactive. Otherwise, Ultra Light is built for daily use.
  3. Overnight step. NAD+ EGF Firming Serum is formulated specifically for evening use and pairs well with Ultra Light for a complete routine.
  4. Moisturise.

Where PDRN Intensive fits

PDRN Intensive Concentrate is a one-for-one swap for Ultra Light on days — or for skin — that wants a stronger dose, not an additional step on top of it. Use one or the other, not both in the same routine.

Dosing

Every formula in the line currently ships in a single 30ml size, so there's no guessing on portioning: two drops, twice daily, is the standard dose across most of the range. Deep Vita C Capsule Serum is the exception — use the full capsule in one go, since there's nothing left to protect from air once it's cracked open.

Introducing something new

Add one new product at a time, and give it a couple of weeks before judging it or adding another. This is the only reliable way to know what's actually working — or what's causing irritation — when you're layering several actives.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use vitamin C and niacinamide in the same routine? Yes. Use vitamin C in the morning, on dry skin, before anything else. Niacinamide can go morning or evening.

Do I have to use every product in the line? No. Most people use three to five products across a full routine — cleanse, treat, moisturise, and SPF in the morning covers most needs. See our simplified routine guide for the full breakdown.

What if I only have time for one step? SPF. It undoes more damage prevention than any active adds.

Can I use Ultra Light and PDRN Intensive together? No — PDRN Intensive is a stronger alternative to Ultra Light, not an addition to it. Pick one per routine.
